REPAIR COMMENTS AND CURRENT LEAD TIME

  1. We are working hard in the quieter times to make sure we are more efficient in the summer. We are getting more and more shops/manufacturers and need to keep lead times down. We have set up another repair station in the shop and Danny is in training..Rest assured we are all about quality...Before Danny is let loose on any live kites he has plenty of old ones to repair until his standards reach what you expect from Kitemare Company. Two repairers=Twice the output without rushing and lowering our standards. I can see my water time reducing as the season moves on :o(

  3. The kites are still coming in but I can keep on top now easily. Lead times 2-4 days until further notice. I am aiming for 1-2 days then allowing for postge back. Thanks for all of your support.

  4. NO MORE KITES TO DO! First time in 11 months...One more came in today just as I finished but it does mean the lead times are down to 1-2 days only. We want to keep to this fast lead time and if it does change I will let you all know. So, at present get your kite fixed and returned by the weekend!

  5. New machine working like a dream. We are working through our back log as machine was down for two weeks. Should only add 1 week to lead times as we are working to get through them.

  6. Oh yes...We are back. Not only have we got the new Singer 457 ZZ but also a new controllable speed motor for the Benina Industrial machine too. Goes so slow Danny has started to sew now. Give us a couple of months to get him practised and two of us will be sewing. Expansion is good for the lead times, 1/2 the time...Bring it on! Two industrial machines and two semi for back up...Never again will we have the same problems we had last week...4 machines to choose from in two repair centres (one up and one in the shop)..Yipieeeee!

  7. After two weeks of machine issues with two out of three playing up and going to the repairers twice, we have bit the bullet. Just under £1000 invested, but, ohhh what a beautie our new Singer 457 zz machine is. The stitch is much better and will sew a lot thicker material...Long and the short of it we have struggeled like ell the last two weeks to put kites through, last night alone I finished two so WERE BACK!

  8. We are out of action until Thursday! I have worn one machine away, the motor needs replacing on the second so I only have 1 left Ahhhh! Both are at the repairers and will be back Thursday morning ready to go again.
This will give me time to update the site and prepare any kites that come in.
    Sorry for the delay...

  21. With a week of solid repairing just completed we are back to 5-7 day turnaround. With no sign of good wind to destroy any more kites I should totally catch up! The forum below is fully updated to kites in and booked so I will try to keep it that way.

  22. Times coming down after silly problem period! Had three kites with silly bladder issues that have had bladder in, out, in, out all they needed was to shake it all about and we would have had the okey, kokey! Those kites have now left in A1 condition so I will update the forum below and work through the 6-7 kites I have left in here. I expect all to be cleared by the weekend ready for the next onslaught as good wind forecast this weekend!

  24. Been away to Hunstanton for the BKSA event. Back now and also doubled our repair staff! Danny now also repairing (basic taping only!) so repair times will remain 1 week at present even with the latest influx of repairs.
